Easy Homemade Chips & Salsa

Chips and salsa can be a great snack or an excellent side dish for something like tacos, but they can also be pretty unhealthy. For about as much as it costs to buy jarred salsa and tortilla chips, you can actually make your own and the taste will be more fresh and flavorful. This recipe comes together in no time, but you’ll need an hour or so to chill the salsa, so plan ahead and enjoy!

Easy Homemade Chips & Salsa

  • 15 oz canned diced fire roasted tomatoes, drained
  • 1/2 white onion, finely diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 handful cilantro, roughly chopped
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 10 flour tortillas

Mix the tomatoes, onion, garlic and cilantro in a bowl. Season the salsa with salt and pepper, cover and chill for an hour. Just before serving, toast the tortillas on both sides over a low flame on a gas burner. If you don’t have a gas stove, drizzle the tortillas in olive oil and bake at 350 degrees for about 2 minutes per side. Cut the tortillas into quarters and serve!
